Outdoor activities planned for remainder of August

The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission will be hosting a wide variety of activities during the month of August. Registration for many events is required, as is a vehicle state park permit.
On display at Meadowlark Gallery during the month of August are creations by the Crazy Quilt Guild of Imperial. A variety of finished works can be seen, from table runners to bed-sized quilts.
A solar eclipse will take place on Aug. 21. People interested in viewing the event need to keep some important safety tips in mind.
Election Ballots: The sample ballot for the hospital special election is on page 8. Ballots are due at the Perkins County Courthouse on Tuesday, Aug. 15 by 5 p.m.
