Some eclipse viewers camped out Sunday night; others staked out their spots even a week in advance. By Monday morning, Aug. 21, the traffic was steady headed toward the path of totality in such places as Arthur.
It may have been the first time in its history that the village of Arthur had so many people there at once, and certainly it was the first time such a diverse crowd visited.
