Gathering for a friend PDF Print E-mail

People from all over the region came to Grant on Saturday, Feb. 15 to help a longtime friend, Mona Lierley, a staple at Hatch’s Super Foods. The fairgrounds building was packed with friends and family enjoying a barbecue with live and silent auctions. The benefit was to help Lierley with medical expenses and organizers called the event ‘very, very successful.’ Over 550 people were served at the free will offering meal and many stayed for the auction that featured vacation trips, blankets, tools and everything in between. A line stretched from the back of the fairgrounds building out the door at one point with people parking near the courthouse to get inside. Donations can still be sent to Hatch’s Super Foods, care of Barbara or to Valley Pro, care of Sue. “Everything fell into place. It was a great day with the volunteers and help from the community and surrounding towns,” said Kevin Hatch, owner of Hatch’s Super Foods. (Photo by Tim Linscott)
