Although the Lady Plainsmen came away with a win Oct. 19 at home against Kimball, they weren’t as focused as usual, said Coach Penny Hite.

“Six games in one week’s time can take a toll on any team, but we kept on persevering,” said Hite.

The Kimball Lady Longhorns put up some big blocks and the Lady Plainsmen missed too many serves which killed any momentum they had going.

After losing the first set 19-25, they came back to capture three in a row for the win: 25-21, 25-19, 25-20.

Kills: S. Metcalf 14, T. Osler 14, T. Metcalf 8, M. Humphrey 7, G. Patrick 6, K. Beck 2, S. Pollard 1. Blocks: T. Metcalf 12, S. Metcalf 10 (4 ace), T. Osler 5 (1 ace), G. Patrick 3 (1 ace), K. Beck 2, S. Pollard 1. Set assists: K. Beck 40, S. Metcalf 2, T. Metcalf 1, M. Prante 1. Ace serves: T. Osler 2, S. Metcalf 2, one each: K. Beck, T. Metcalf, M. Humphrey.
