His comments will feature “miracles” of the mission field of Southeast Asia.

Thies will speak at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 25 at Zion Lutheran Church in Grant following a potluck dinner at 6 p.m.

He will also speak at an 8:45 a.m. Bible study and 10 a.m. worship service at Trinity Lutheran Church located eight miles north of Grant and onemiles west. A potluck dinner will follow. The public is invited to both events.

The Iowa native will focus his discussion and multi media presentation on mission efforts of Dr. Fungchatou Lo and his family in Cambodia and Southeast Asia.

Thies indicates that his presentation will feature “miracles” the Lord has provided to the success of the mission efforts.

Born and raised on a farm near Mapleton, Iowa, Thies has spent 33 years in the banking, real estate and insurance industry. He brings an entirely new vision as a layman, having traveled to some 76 countries.

Thies will present an unusual message of what is taking place in the mission division of the Lutheran church. He has made presentations in more than 1,150 churches throughout the United States.

The message of Gary Thies has an impact on the lives of his audience, emphasizing that God does call people from all walks of life and that God does have a plan for every person.
