|West Nile confirmed in three Perkins County residents|
By Jan Rahn
West Nile Virus has made its way to Perkins County, with three confirmed cases as of last week.
“This is the season,” said Brad Hays, lab director at Perkins County Health Services.
Hays said one case was confirmed in a patient on Aug. 9. The male in the age range of 50-65 was a patient at the Grant Medical Clinic.
Dr. Cliff Colglazier of Colglazier Clinic in Grant said there were two patients seen at the clinic who had confirmed cases of West Nile.
Even though names and ages of the patients weren’t released, as rumor has it in a small community, the names of the ill residents came to light. Each of them was spoken to last week about the illness that has taken them on a downward spiral from their active lives.
