Deadline is May 28 for Progressive Agriculture Safety Day for kids in July PDF Print E-mail

July 12 is the date for the Progressive Agriculture Safety Day for children ages 6-14 at the Chase County Fairgrounds.

The Chase County 4-H clubs are sponsoring the day-long event in conjunction with the Progressive Agriculture Foundation. Coordinator Chris Tomky is excited to have the children return this year for another wonderful day of fun learning about agriculture safety.

Tomky said each year many children are killed or injured in rural America both on and off the farm. The purpose of Ag Safety Day is to teach them how to prevent injuries and reduce the risk of ag-related incidents.

During the day, children participate in interactive activities that reinforce the importance of taking responsibility for their own safety, respecting parents’ safety rules and sharing safety tips with their family and friends.
