Austin Meyer used a Granby roll to secure his reversal against Maxwell’s Kayden Stubbs in sudden death to give him a 4-2 win and a district championship. The championship match went to sudden death after two overtime periods with the score still tied 2-2.

Senior Brandon Knoles returned from an upset in semifinals to take third and earn back-to-back trips to state. seconds in his semifinal match. Like Meyer, he needed just 19 seconds for his first round pin.

Freshman Mason Toner won a hard-fought battle in his 120-lb. semifinal match against Hitchcock County’s Kaleb Christofferson in what Coach Collins said was Toner’s best match of the year.

Junior Austin Meyer pulled off an uncommon move for a heavyweight wrestler to win the D4 district championship at 285 Saturday in Sutherland.
