MPCC campuses ready for May 7 graduation

A number of area students will be graduating from Mid Plains Community College in North Platte and McCook on May 7.

McCook Community College’s ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. at the Peter and Dolores Graff Events Center. The event is open to the public, and guests will be expected to wear masks and adhere to current social distancing protocols.

Kaden Hager of Wallace will be graduating with his Associate of General Studies.

North Platte Community College’s graduation ceremony will be at 3 p.m. CT in the McDonald-Belton Gymnasium on NPCC’s South Campus at 601 W. State Farm Road. The same COVID safety requirements are in place as at McCook’s event.

Graduating with their Associate of Science Degrees are Aryn Seiler of Grant, Betzy Castellanos of Madrid and Ansley Wood of Wallace.

Christopher Terry of Grant will graduate with his Associate of Fine Arts Degree.

Taylor York of Grant will receive their Associate Degree of Nursing.

Rachel Klahn of Madrid will earn an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Business, focusing on Accounting and Business Administration. Caleb Vote of Wallace will also be graduating with an Associate of Applied Science, with his focus in Diesel Technology.

NPCC students/employees recognized

The accomplishments of North Platte Community College students and employees were recognized during NPCC’s annual Honors Convocation Monday, April 26.

The ceremony was in the McDonald-Belton Theater on NPCC’s South Campus. Honorees included representatives from various college clubs and organizations and recipients of the following awards.

Division Awards for Applied Technologies were given with  Caleb Vote, Wallace of Wallace as a recipient.  

Spirit Awards were given to students including Alysen Daniels, of Mullen; Georgia Flanders, of North Platte; Maricela Melendez, of Arnold; Stephenie Nelson, of Stapleton; Christopher Terry, of Grant; and Josiah Wriedt, of Norfolk.
