Pitchin with Pritch: How about those Plainsmen?

Article Image Alt Text

Where do I start this week? I thought about it for about 10 seconds and said, “Plainsmen Football!”

Congratulations to the coaches and team on advancing another step on the playoff-ladder.

If I looked at things correctly, Arapahoe was a top seed and undefeated. It was probably going to be a tough game no matter what.

I almost jumped in the car and drove out to the game but a few things came up and I decided to watch it on Striv.

That usually is a great alternative if you can’t make the trip, but I only got to see portions of the game because Striv kept just spinning instead of showing me a picture.

The good thing was that whenever I could get a picture, the Plainsmen were doing pretty well. In the end, it was the Plainsmen, 37-28.

I was an English teacher not a math teacher, but I know that 37 is more than 28, so now it is on to taking another step towards the State Finals.

The team is getting it done so why not just finish it out and bring home the big trophy? Good luck against Hitchcock County!

Husker football not so good

Now the other football team in Nebraska.

The social media was about as hot after the Huskers loss on Saturday as the seat that Coach Frost might be sitting on.

The Huskers are driving a lot of people crazy. The Huskers get so close to being able to win one but keep thinking of ways to let the game get away.

The loss on Saturday made the Husker’s record 3-6 and in last place in the Big 10. Coach Frost is 15-26 in the Big 10 career-wise and the Huskers still have Ohio State, Wisconsin, and Iowa left. The Huskers won’t be favored to win any of the three.

I wouldn’t say there is any one player that is causing the problem, but like most teams the quarterback catches a lot of flak when things go wrong.

This is especially true if he throws interceptions or fumbles and our QB has been able to do that.

Adrian Martinez has skills and is a good QB, but apparently, not a great QB yet.

It is going to be interesting to see what might happen at the end of the season.

Husker Hoops

I did get to see the Huskers men’s basketball team play their exhibition game against Peru State. They won big in the end, but they should have.

Peru State will have a good season I think, playing their schedule. They have some players.

This past weekend was going to be a big weekend for basketball as my grandson had a couple of games and the Huskers had another exhibition game on Sunday against Colorado.

I missed going to all of them because of some health issues.

I got to spend eight hours in three different health facilities on Friday with most of them in the emergency room at Bryant East. Nothing to get real excited about, just something I wasn’t planning on.

Ky’s team won two games and the Huskers looked much better vs. Colorado.

I did get to watch the Huskers on Big 10 Plus which was ok.

Now we are getting ready to go visit our scary grandkids in their Halloween stuff. That will be more fun than all the other events this past week.
