Wildcats looking strong heading into postseason

The Wallace track teams tackled some of the best competition in the area last week, traveling to the Best of the Midwest and the Dundy County Stratton Twilight.
The Best of the Midwest was May 3 at Sutherland.
For the boys’ team, Carson Glunz ran the 100 and 200-meter dashes and Kyler Flaming the 300-meter hurdles.
Ashley Robertson ran the 1,600-meters, Mariah Gardner the 3,200 meters, Kendyl Flaming the 100-meter hurdles and 300-meter hurdles for the girls’ team. The team also ran the 3,200-meter relay.
Wallace headed to Benkelman Friday for the DCS Twilight.
The Wallace boys’ placed third as a team. Wins went to Glunz, 200-meter dash, and Kyler Flaming, 300-meter hurdles and high jump.
The Wildcat girls’ team also had a strong showing, finishing second overall.
Wins went to Gardner, 1,600-meter run, and Kendyl Flaming, 300-meter hurdles.
The girls’ team placed multiple athletes in six different events and racked up 105 total points.
The team heads to Cambridge Thursday for the D-7 district.
The meet will have a strong RPAC flavor. Of the other teams competing all but one is from the conference, Loomis.
Other teams will be Arapahoe, Bertrand, Cambridge, Dundy County Stratton, Hitchcock County, Maywood-Hayes Center, Medicine Valley, Southwest and Wauneta-Palisade.
