On March 17, 2022, Deloris Grauerholz, longtime resident of Sutherland, Nebraska, passed away at the age of 79.
Deloris was born June 2, 1942, the daughter of Earl and Ione Gibson.  The family moved a few times until they eventually landed south of Wallace.  Deloris attended Wallace Public Schools, graduating in 1959, then Kearney State College.  After she received her teaching certificate she taught in Madrid and Grainton.
In August of 1961, Deloris was united in marriage to the love of her life, Herman Grauerholz, Jr., in Madrid.  They lived south of Sutherland where they raised their family, farmed and had dairy cattle.  She and Herman were blessed with 55 years of marriage, three children, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Deloris was a Sunday School teacher and longtime member of Grace Lutheran Church.  She was a member of Excelsior Extension Club, a 4-H leader when the children were young, and enjoyed being in a card club.  Deloris also volunteered as a tutor for the GED program and was a Lutheran Brotherhood Representative, helping people in many ways.
She loved to craft, sew and quilt.  Being a member of the Patch Work Girls quilt club was a highlight.  Deloris was a kind, loving woman who was a teacher to all children around her.  She will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman; parents, Earl and Ione Gibson; brothers-in-law, Joe Estermann, Jim Anderson and Harley Gries; and sisters-in-law, Donna Batterman and Geraldine McCoy.
Deloris leaves behind her children, Richard (Cathy) Grauerholz, of Hershey, Timothy Grauerholz, of Imperial and Karleen (Kevin) Monheiser, of Hershey; grandchildren, Kelsey (Jeremy) Hayden, Christine Grauerholz (fiancé, Jason Robertson), Joshua (Chelsea) Grauerholz and Kortney (Lance) Zwickl and C.J.
