Mother Nature sent a light dusting of hoar frost Tuesday morning, serving as a gentle warning that it’s still winter. Southwest Nebraska escaped an ice storm and blistering cold that shut down much of central and eastern Nebraska. Temperatures are expected to climb into the 50s before snow showers are forecasted for next week.
