Accident results in arrest of minors

A two-vehicle injury accident nine miles north of Grant resulted in the arrest of three minors early Sunday morning, July 24. 

According to Sheriff Jim Brueggeman and the Nebraska State Patrol, at approximately 1:40 a.m., a 2016 Toyota Tundra pickup heading northbound on Highway 61 stopped to make a U-turn back toward Grant.

A 2011 Cadillac utility vehicle came over the hill and t-boned the Toyota at mile marker 76. 

Both vehicles were carrying four passengers. A passenger in the Cadillac broke her collarbone. No other injuries were reported.  

The driver of the Toyota, an 18-year-old male of Brule, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcoholic liquor, minor in possession of alcoholic liquor and careless driving. 

A male and female, both  18 years old and of Grant, were cited for minor in possession of alcoholic liquor.
