Alcohol inspections held in Perkins, Chase Counties

During the evening hours of Thursday, June 7, investigators with the Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) conducted alcohol inspections in Perkins and Chase Counties.

The project was supported in whole or part by Grant No. 93.959 under the SAMHSA Center for Substance Abuse Prevention, Region II Human Services, and the Nebraska DHHS Division of Behavioral Health.

In total, 10 businesses were inspected. Two businesses sold alcohol to a minor for a non-compliance rate of 20 percent. All 10 of the businesses checked the minor’s ID.

The businesses failing the inspection included Tequila’s Mexican Grill and VFW No. 4688, both in Imperial. Both businesses checked ID and sold to the minor.

The 10 businesses inspected included convenience stores, restaurants, golf courses and bars. NSP conducts alcohol inspections in an effort to keep alcohol out of the hands of minors.

Businesses which fail the inspections are referred to the Nebraska Liquor Control Commission and clerks who sell alcohol to a minor are cited for procuring alcohol for a minor.
