USPS increases prices

United States Postal Service price changes took effect on Jan. 21. According to USPS, the changes will aid in funding the organization and support their ability to provide optimum service to customers. 

The changes reflect an array of products such as shipping services, (primarily known as Competitive products,) mailing services, (primarily known as Market Dominant products,) package services and special services. 

The highlight of the price changes include:

• Priority Mail Express and Priority Mail prices increased by 3.9 percent overall. 

• First-class mail single piece stamp price increased to 50 cents. 

• Post Office Box prices increased an average of 1.9 percent at Market Dominant locations and an average of 6.5 percent at Competitive locations respectively.
