The basketball season is winding down and the Wallace boys are down to their last three regular season games. Two of those games were played on their home court last week.
Thursday night, the Wildcats hosted McPherson County, and Friday night Hitchcock County came to town. The Cats experienced success in both games.
McPherson County
The Longhorns from McPherson County came in with seven determined and hard working ball players that competed hard the entire game, but the Wildcats had the upper hand.
Micah Swedberg got things started for Wallace when he hit a short floater in the lane. After a Longhorn jump shot, he added a free throw to the books. Jacob Melton responded to McPherson County’s second basket when he got a put back and one. Before the quarter ended, Ty Maline nailed a three and Swedberg drove the lane, and right before the buzzer he added a put back. Wallace had earned a 13-6 lead after the first eight minutes of play.
The Cats turned it up a notch in the second period.
