Nora Jameson For the Grant Tribune-Sentinel Trey Robertson won the RPAC boys’ individual title by 55 seconds last week at Cambridge.

Wallace XC wins girls’ team, individual titles at RPAC

The Wallace Cross Country athletes traveled to Cross Creek Golf Links in Cambridge to participate in the RPAC Cross Country meet. 

The girls’team took top honors with seven points. Ashley Robertson and Dajana Garrison finished first and second with just three seconds between them, 21:40.91 and 21:43.90, respectively. Ryleigh Hanson ran to fourth place with a time of 22:33.3, 20 seconds behind Cambridge’s Brenna Deterding’s third place run. Cambridge came in second in the team standings with 15 points and Paxton rounded out the top three teams with 25 points

Trey Robertson continued his undefeated season with a winning time of 17:04.39. Fifty seconds behind him was Bertrand’s Marcus Hernandez’s second place run of 17:54.77. Ryun Sheets ran a good race with a time of 21:20.62.

The top three boys’ teams  were Alma, first with 16 points, Bertrand, second with 17 points, and Medicine Valley third with 36 points.

Wallace will travel to the D6 district meet Thursday at Bridgeport’s Courthouse and Jail Rock Golf Course. The boys’ race will begin at 3 p.m. MT with the girls’ race to follow. 

Teams involved are Banner County, Bayard, Bridgeport, Cody-Kilgore, Crawford, Creek Valley, Dundy County Stratton, Garden County, Gordon-Rushville, Hay Springs, Hemingford, Hitchcock County, Kimball, Leyton, Morrill, Mullen, North Platte St. Patrick’s, Paxton, Perkins County, South Platte and Sutherland.

As with previous meets this season, the district meet promises to be a good one with Trey Robertson, Mason McGreer of PCS and Jarrett Miles of NPSP remaining 1-2-3, respectively, in Class D.
