Meetings recap

The following is a recap from the monthly meetings of the Grant City Council, Perkins County School Board and Perkins County Commissioners.
City of Grant
The city board held a public hearing to cover the six-month report of the LB 840 Citizen Advisory Review Committee. Economic Development Director Edward Dunn spoke to the council.
    The council approved T.C. Engineering Inc. for the 2022 City of Grant Water Improvement Project.
Perkins County Schools
The school board elected Chris Fryzek as its president for the upcoming year. Holly Cornelius was selected to serve as vice president, Val Foster as secretary and Jayson Bishop as treasurer at their Jan. 11 meeting.
The board accepted the resignation of para Tyler Faber.
The school board met again Jan. 18 to approve the expenditures.
The next meeting of the school board will be Feb. 21 at 7 p.m. in the school’s media center.
A board workshop will be held Feb. 27 at 3 p.m.
PC Commissioners
At their Feb. 7 meeting, the commissioners reviewed the county’s contract with Southwest Weed Management. The contract will be signed Feb. 22.
    The commissioners discussed the underground pump north of Madrid. The issue will need to go before the Perkins County Zoning Planning Board.
In response to an accident at Road 338 and 762, the commissioners will look into a solution for the intersection.
The commissioners accepted the resignation of custodian Rick Ochsner, a 23-year employee.
The next meeting of the commissioners will be Feb. 22 at the courthouse.
