Blume Flower Studio opens in Grant

With excitement, enthusiasm and a desire to strengthen the community, Lauren Klima opens the doors of Blume Flower Studio at 150 Central Avenue in Grant.
Lauren and husband Jeremy Klima, both Grant graduates, purchased the shop, formerly known as Poppe’s Posies from Michele Poppe, a distant cousin to Lauren.
“When I heard Michele was moving, I contacted her immediately,” said Klima, who has always had the dream of owning her own floral studio.
As a student in Grant, Klima was employed part time at Grant Floral. Her passion for the industry grew when she served as manager and lead designer at a Lincoln floral shop owned by Monica McClenahan Thebeau, another Grant graduate. Lauren has since done occasional free lance floral arranging.
A passion for fitness also a high priority for Klima, she returned to Grant in 2004, as owner and operator of Image Total Fitness, which is still in operation as well.
The transition of ownership of the floral studio was extremely smooth, said Klima, who is grateful the shop remains within the family. She pays homage to former owners Michele and the late Alan Poppe, keeping the flower theme with the name “Blume,” the German word for flower.
Blume will offer daily delivery service to Grant, Ogallala and the surrounding areas.
Klima will be partnering with area funeral directors in providing floral tributes. She also looks forward to assisting area brides with full service wedding floral and decorating options.
Blume is much more than a floral shop, offering what Klima calls “quirky candles” by Pretty by Her; self care and bath products by Aria Rose, a Lincoln-based, woman-owned company; teas; organic chocolate; vases and other decor.
Klima puts great importance on the shop supporting regionally-based small businesses as product sources. Included in her offerings is hand painted stationery by Moglea Studio, based out of Iowa.
Customers can count on convenience when shopping with Blume, who accepts  orders through a website  and via text message. Klima can be reached by calling 308-352-2254 or by texting 323-45B-LUME.
Klima invites shoppers to stop by and perhaps discover a new favorite flower, luxurious lip balm, deliciously-scented candle or tasty chocolate bar.
