Maria De Jesus Crisosto Gil, 63, of Grant, passed away on Jan. 19, 2023, in Houston, Texas.

Maria was born in Las Palmas, Jalisco, Mexico on April 5, 1959.

She was a blessed and devoted mother of eight children, Ivone, Salud, Francisco, Eduardo, Veronica, Miguel, Juan, and Olga.

Maria accepted Jesus as her savior and that was the foundation for her life. She was a long-time member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Grant.

Maria was a  27-year employee of Perkins County Health Services and was the backbone of the Dietary Department.

Maria was a woman unlike any other, a tenaciously feisty yet loving spirit. She was a hard worker with an impeccable work ethic, soft spoken and of noble heart. Always willing to give a warm smile. Maria dedicated her life to raising her eight children and oh how she loved her grandbabies and great-grandbabies. She had a kind heart and lived a life of service to God, her family, church, and friends. For those that knew her, knew she loved fiercely and unconditionally. She loved anything that involved her family, crocheting, gardening, reading, trying new foods at her favorite restaurants and she was an avid shopper. Maria is forever loved and will be missed by many.

Maria is survived by her eight children, daughter, Ivone (Hector) Pina of Rio Verde, San Luis Potosi, Mexico; grandchildren, Erika (Daniel), Hector Jr., Joey, Diego, great grandchildren, Daniel and Evelyn; Daughter, Salud Perez of Houston, grandchildren, Analicia, Gabriel, and Alan; son, Francisco (Hilda) Perez of Fort Worth, Texas, grandchildren, Richie, Brandon, Brenda, and Karina; son, Eduardo (Erika) Perez of Houston, grandchildren, Eric; daughter, Veronica (Fidel) Zuniga of Houston, grandchildren, Allyson (Jesus), Alexia, David, great-grandchildren, Valerie and Jesus Jr. the 4th; son, Miguel (Enrisha) Perez of Houston, Son, Juan (Lynlea) Perez of Grant, Neb., grandchildren, Juan Jr., Ernesto, Carson, and Lucas; daughter, Olga (Edward) Dunn of Grant, grandchildren, Issiah, Haley, and Victor.

Services will be held on Thursday, Feb. 2, 2023, at 11 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church in Grant with Pastor Michael Heckmann officiating. Interment will be in the Grant Fairview Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, from 2 p.m. until 6 pm at the Bullock-Long Funeral Home in Grant.

Bullock-Long Funeral Home of Grant is in charge of arrangements.
