City, county approve law enforcement contract
The Perkins County Sheriff’s Office will continue to provide law enforcement services to the City of Grant after the city and county both approved the one-year agreement.

The shelter that stood at the Grant City park since its construction by the Grant Lions Club in 1979, has found a new home next to the Lion’s Shelter at the Perkins County Fairgrounds. The fairgrounds can always benefit from more shaded area and the shelter was in need of relocation due to the new pool being built at the park.
Although the 2020 fair will play out a bit different than in years past, the fair board and 4-H council have both been busy working and planning this modified event.
Jeff Wallin, an agent for Adams Insurance Advisors was present at the June Chamber meeting and was recognized as the Business Spotlight.
Wallin has been with the company since 2001.
Perkins County residents lead the southwest Nebraska region in completing the 2020 census questionnaires.
As of June 21, a total of 65.9% of residents have turned in their census data.
Southwest Nebraska Public Health Department (SWNPHD) will be hosting TestNebraska for another COVID-19 testing events in Imperial June 28.
