Wallace moves forward with nuisance program

The Village of Wallace Board has approved to continue with the Nuisance Abatement Program in 2019 with West Central Nebraska Development District, Inc. (WCNDD) remaining as the appointed Nuisance Officer. 

As with years past, the Nuisance Officer will not trespass onto private property to perform an assessment; they will remain on public alleyways and streets to perform a windshield review.

Residents requiring property cleanup will be notified via certified courtesy letter; certified mailing ensures that the property owner receives the notice. Property owners are given adequate time to clear the nuisances before any action is taken to the Village Board. The Board has no knowledge of who receives courtesy letters.

Items which the Nuisance Officer looks for include: auto parts (including tires), unlicensed vehicles (including yard and boat trailers), pallets, inoperable machinery, discarded appliances, dead trees, unsafe buildings, trash and refuse.
