PCHSF Gala to benefit cancer assistance program

The funds for this year’s Perkins County Health Services Foundation Gala will benefit their cancer assistance program, which helps cancer patients break barriers to continue care.

PCHS Foundation Administrator Adair Reese said the foundation will be recognizing those who are battling or living with cancer, have beaten cancer, and those who have passed from cancer:

Fighters—those currently fighting cancer.

Thrivers—those currently living with metastatic cancer.

Survivors—those who have beaten cancer.

Warriors--—those who have won many battles but lost the war to cancer.

“This will give the community a chance to come out and support those who have been directly impacted by cancer as well as their families,” said Reese.

The foundation is asking Fighters, Thrivers, Survivors and the families of Warriors to provide a digital photo to be displayed at the gala.

Cancer assistance program

The cancer assistance program covers expenses that might prevent a patient from continuing their care. These include expenses such as utilities, rent/house payments, cost of services, fuel and other expenses causing complications.

“Cancer has impacted so many in our community,” said Reese. “By providing assistance to those who run into barriers during their diagnosis, we can assist in the reduction of stress the family goes through.”
