One vehicle accident leaves power pole split
On Monday morning, a pick-up truck collided with a power pole just off of Eighth and Washington. The driver was unharmed and issued a citation. When the call came in, around 9:45 a.m. on Jan. 8, the Perkins County Sheriff’s Office, Grant Volunteer Fire Department, and Midwest Electric quickly responded and had the street closed off while repairs were made. Chris Schrotberger of Midwest Electric said there was no loss of power in the neighborhood, and their crew had replaced the pole by about 12:30 p.m. that day, by which time, the road was cleared and reopened. Midwest plans to install the new street light in the near future.
