Museum porch gets makeover
The 112-year-old porch on the Perkins County Museum has recently been restored after Brenda Styskal, Perkins County Historical Society president, noticed that the supports were unstable and causing the porch to pull from the building. The three-week project was funded by the Grant Lions, Perkins County, and private individuals. The project, completed by Dick Noyes and Jason Noyes, included dismantling the porch, providing new supports and reassembling with new decking. Styskal said it is one of several projects planned with the intention of ensuring the longevity of the landmark.
