Memorial Day services planned

Services for Memorial Day have been set on Monday, May 28 in communities throughout the region to pay tribute to Americans who have fallen in battle.

Grant

Legion Post 40 will host Grant’s service at 10 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery southwest of Grant, with John Long serving as emcee.

Father Thomas Bush of Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church will be giving the invocation and benediction.  

Bryce Anderson will be this year’s guest speaker. 

Coffee/rolls will follow at the legion hall. 

Madrid

Memorial Day service in Madrid will begin with the annual pancake feed from 6:30-8 a.m. at the legion hall.

The service will start at 9 a.m. at Madrid Cemetery with Julie Sestak as guest speaker.

Elsie

The annual Elsie Memorial Day service will begin at the Elsie Cemetery, east of town, at 10 a.m. with John Peterson as the speaker.

Venango

The Venango Legion Post 270 will host their Memorial Day service at 10:30 a.m. at the Venango Cemetery.

Speaker will be Stephanie Larson. 

A free-will lunch will be served at the legion hall following the service. 

Wallace

At 10 a.m. CT the Wallace American Legion Post 213 will hold their service at the cemetery south of Wallace.

A free-will hamburger feed will be held at the legion hall in Wallace following the service.
