Meetings to educate voters on pool bond

Those interested in learning about the pool bond on the Nov. 6 general election ballot should plan to attend one of two meetings scheduled at the Perkins County Senior Center on Oct. 25 and Nov. 1, both at 6:30 p.m.

Tobin Buchanan, vice president of public finance at First National Capital Markets, will be available to answer voters’ questions.

City of Grant voters will be asked to vote for or against the city issuing bonds in a principal amount not to exceed $2.4 million for the purpose of financing the costs of constructing and equipping a new swimming pool and related facilities.

Passing the bond would give the City of Grant authority to issue between $1 and $2.4 million to cover costs that have not been accrued through grants, donations and fundraising efforts. Approximately $1 million of the bond amount would be covered by the city’s sales and use tax.

The meetings are being hosted by the Perkins County Pool Project Committee and all are welcome to attend.
