GVFD receives most ambulance calls ever
The Grant Volunteer Fire Department and Perkins County Ambulance ended 2018 with the most ambulance calls in the department’s history with 236.
The total number of fire, ambulance and emergency management responses was the second largest in history with 269. The most the department has ever received was 276 in 2007.
The fire department responded to a request just 32 times. The year 2012 holds the record with 75 calls.
The busiest month for GVFD last year September with 34 responses, followed by August with 30. Friday was the busiest day of the week with 46 responses, and 8 a.m., 10 a.m. and noon were the busiest times with 21.
Volunteers spent 1,663 hours in training and 1,510 in service.
