Elsie needs input to develop CRA

In an effort to develop a Community Redevelopment Authority (CRA) in Elsie, village residents are providing input for the town’s Comprehensive Plan.

A comprehensive planning process determines community goals in terms of community development. The result is a comprehensive plan that expresses public interest on land use, recreation, transportation and housing. It is the road map of the future of the community specific to community and economic development needs.

Recently, 50 surveys were mailed to households within the community. Residents are asked to complete the survey by March 26 and deliver them to the drop box within the Elsie post office building.

The surveys will be tabulated and the information will be presented at the second of two town hall meetings scheduled for March 29 at 6 p.m. at the Legion Hall.

All residents are invited to attend and provide input; the town hall setting allows residents to provide input for Elsie’s future.

West Central Nebraska Development District, Inc. is the moderator of the town hall meeting and is preparing the Comprehensive Plan.
