Deadline approaches for village incumbents

Monday, July 16 marks the deadline incumbents in the Villages of Elsie, Madrid and Venango can file for office. Aug. 1 is the deadline for newcomers. 

Doug Curtis, incumbent; and Kevin Kugler, newcomer have filed for the two seats open in Elsie. Larry Biesecker is also up for re-election. 

Up for re-election in Madrid are Mark Heil and Kristy Ogg. Neither had filed as of July 2. 

Four have already filed for the three open seats in Venango, including incumbents, Troy Grothman and Dennis Ekdahl, and newcomers, Josh Clark and Christina Farnsworth. Diana Maupin is also up for re-election.  

Other city and county offices that will appear on the Nov. 6 general election ballot include:

Grant City Mayor-—Lisa Schmitt and Bryce Anderson

Grant City Council—Andrea Brueggeman, incumbent; Darrell Pierce, incumbent; Chase Sauder and Edward Dunn

County Commissioner District No. 2—Ron Hagan, Republican

County Assessor— Peggy Burton, Republican incumbent 

County Attorney—Richard Roberts, Republican incumbent

County Commissioner District No. 3-—Steven Tucker, Republican incumbent  

County Clerk—Rita Long, Republican incumbent 

County Sheriff—James Brueggeman, Republican incumbent 

County Treasurer—Julie Sestak, Republican incumbent

Perkins County Schools—Amy Kroeker, incumbent; Ryan Hendricks, incumbent; Adair Reese, Angela Gloy, Chris Fryzek.
