Zeb Lee reaches his 2-gallon mark while Red Cross staff member Lorna monitors him.

Blood drive falls short

The Elsie/Madrid blood drive that was held Feb. 9, fell just short of its goal according to coordinators Michele Cutler and Rosalie Curtis.

The shortage was due to many donors not being able to donate because of illness.

The Elsie Fire Department served the meal prepared by Grant Packing.

Reaching their gallon marks were Patti Lee, one gallon; Zeb Lee, two gallon; Rosalie Curtis and Mark Lee, seven gallon.

Amanda Sauer was a first time donor.

The following volunteers donated their time and resources: Mark Olson, John Cutler, Mollie Robertson, Lazette Knoll, Bill Robertson and Chad Cutler.
