Richard Lee Jones - October 03, 2013

On the morning of Sept. 15, 2013, Richard Lee Jones passed away at Golden Ours Convalescent Home in Grant of natural causes. He was 80 years old.
Richard was born in Omaha on Aug. 1, 1933. He was the fourth child, and the second son of Agnes Josephine and Lewis Foster Jones. After leaving high school in Omaha, Richard moved to Ogallala where he met and married Roberta Stickley. They were married Dec. 21, 1957 at Trinity Lutheran Church north of Grant, Neb.
Richard lived the majority of his life in the Keith and Perkins County area, and spent his life driving semi-trailer trucks, enjoying time with family, and attending his children’s school events. Richard enjoyed serving at his church as well, usually as a greeter or an usher.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents Lewis F. and Agnes J. Jones, his two sisters, Dorothy Pittsford of Seattle, Wash., and Francis Bell of Bloomington, Ind., and one brother, Lewis Ervin Jones of San Francisco.
Richard is survived by his five children, Machell and husband Don Arnold of North Platte; Kyle Jones and wife Coleen of Ogallala; Brad Jones and wife Deirdre of Greeley, Colo; Christine Jones of Hastings; and Stacie Aufrecht and husband Ron of McCook; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial and gravesite service is set for Oct. 5, 2013 at 4 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church north of Grant.
