Dowe Marshall Jr. was born on Oct. 1, 1955 at Brownlee, Neb. He was the oldest of two children born to Dowe C. and Janice Roether Marshall. Dowe attended rural school and later graduated from North Platte Senior High School in North Platte in 1974. After high school, he went to work for Huebner’s.
Dowe was married to Deborah Collins on April 4, 1981 in North Platte. They made their home in North Platte until 1988 when they moved to Grant.
Dowe worked for several different companies including Steve’s Feed and Seed, Wendell’s, Regiers, Seaboard Farms, and most recently worked for the Frenchman Valley Co-op, transporting fertilizer.
Dowe had developed a malignancy nearly three years ago and had been failing in health when he died on Friday morning, Sept. 27, at his home in Grant surrounded by his loving family. He had reached the age of 57.
Dowe was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, and an infant niece.
He is survived by his wife Deb; one son, Matthew of Grant; two daughters, Sara Marshall of Imperial and Jenna and husband Shawn Frosh of Ogallala; two grandchildren, Kaylee and Colt Frosh; three sisters, Mary Adams of Grand Island, Lynn and husband C.G. Taylor and Janice and husband Dennis Skiver, all of North Platte; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Sept. 30, at the Grant New Life Fellowship Church with Pastor Russ Gaar officiating.
Burial was in the Grant Fairview Cemetery.
A memorial has been established.
Bullock-Long Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
