Wallace crushes yet another opponent with huge victory over Hayes Center PDF Print E-mail

The Wallace Wildcat football team made it look easy Friday night against Hayes Center, picking up the dominating 46-0 win.
Wallace had the offense rolling with a 14-0 first quarter lead and only increased its intensity in the second quarter.
Wallace outscored Hayes Center 26-0 in the second quarter, building a 40-0 lead going into halftime.
The dominance continued into the third quarter when Wallace added six points and held Hayes Center scoreless.
Wallace scored quickly and often, showing its speed on offense. The team had a time of possession of 9:01 and Hayes Center had a time of possession of 11:30.
Wallace picked up 11 first downs, holding Hayes Center to just five.
Having a highlight reel game for Wallace was Landon Swedberg as he scored five touchdowns in the game. Swedberg rushed for 122 yards on 11 carries, averaging over a first down per carry (11.09 yards), and scored three touchdowns on the ground. His longest run was 46 yards.
Swedberg then caught two touchdown passes for 49 total yards, including a 29-yard TD pass from John Marquardt.
For the whole game, Swedberg had 171 all-purpose yards.
Having a great game was Marquardt, completing 5 of 8 passes for 92 yards and three touchdowns on the night.
Sophomore Andrew Gardner caught one TD pass from Marquardt for nine yards. Marquardt had 56 yards rushing with one TD while Josh May picked up 23 yards rushing in six carries.
Top rusher for Hayes Center was senior Tristan Johnson. He had 12 carries for 67 yards, including a 21-yard scamper.
Austin Meyers and Tyrone Brave of Hayes Center each had 15 yards receiving.
The Wildcats (5-0) will play Friday at home against Brady (2-3).
