Empty downtown building to house appliance business

A building in downtown Grant will be coming to life and taking on a whole new look.
The building most recently occupied by Melody’s Cafe, as well as several other restaurants through the years, is becoming a retail outlet.
Reese Appliance owners Jason and Adair Reese purchased the building during an auction on June 1 and renovation will soon get underway.
The space in the 200 block of Central Avenue will become a showroom for a full line of GE appliances which are currently located where the couple runs their other businesses—Reese Mechanical and AR Salon.
Reese Mechanical, a heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration (HVAC-R) business run by Jason at 1st and Lincoln is also the location where Adair has a hair salon, and where they originally opened the appliance store.
The Reeses felt the new downtown location would better serve appliance customers and wanted to make sure it didn’t become an area just for storage.
“We wanted to make sure there wasn’t a historical building lost,” said Adair.
More than likely, her salon will eventually be moved to the new location also.
The offices for the couple’s businesses will be housed at the new location.
The HVAC-R business will remain in its current location.
