Venango landmark razed PDF Print E-mail

On May 10, Venango’s old wood elevator was torn down. The grain facility along Highway 23 was built in the 1920s or early 1930s, but there are no official records of when it was constructed or who built it. According to Frenchman Valley Co-op manager Gary Talich, it has not been in use since the adjacent concrete elevator was built in the late 1950s. Talich said the community is glad to see the dilapidated structure go. It had become an eyesore in addition to a safety concern. (Photo by Brooke Lutz)
