In back-to-back tournaments Thursday, April 25 and Friday, April 26, Perkins County golfers finished first and third, respectively.
Thursday’s meet in Garden County included Perkins County who finished first with a score of 360; Bridgeport in second with 360; Chase County who finished third with 367; Bayard, fourth, 370; Sandhills-Thedford, fifth 387; Mullen, sixth, 391; Ogallala seventh, 415; Garden County eighth, 439; Creek Valley ninth, 443 and Hyannis who finished 10th with a score of 602.
Three Plainsmen finished in the top 10 individually—Cole Whalen took fourth, scoring 84; Colton White was ninth with a score of 90 and Blake Poppe 10th with 91 points.
Dakota Swires of Bridgeport was the first place finisher with a score of 78.
Other finishers were Austin Thelander (95); Jacob Sexson (97) and Chase Miyamoto (JV 94).
Friday, the Plainsmen traveled to Sutherland to take part in South Platte Valley Association conference meet. They finished third of the five participating teams, scoring 371.
Other teams and scores were Chase County first, 367; North Platte St. Pat’s second, 370; Hershey fourth, 414 and Sutherland fifth, 428.
Competing individually, Austin Thelander placed fourth with a score of 89; Blake Poppe was ninth with 92 and Jacob Sexson finished 10th, scoring 94.
Top honors went to Curtis Laird of Chase County, who scored an 83.
Other Perkins County scores were Chase Miyamoto 96; Colton White 98; Brennan Toner (JV) 101 and Shane Ourada (JV) 134.
