The Wallace Wildcats competed in the Republican Plains Activities Conference (RPAC) track meet on Friday, April 26 in Benkelman. It was a beautiful day for track and the whole squad was able to compete in the meet.
All 14 RPAC schools participated, including: Alma, Arapahoe, Bertrand, Cambridge, Dundy County Stratton, Hayes Center, Hitchcock County, Maywood, Medicine Valley, Paxton, Southern Valley, Southwest, Wallace, and Wauneta-Palisade.
Wallace finished 13th in the girls division and 10th in the boys division with three and 28 points respectively.
The lone event placing for the girls team was the 4x800 meter relay team of Alexandria Lundvall, Mickayla Sheets, Jaclyn Nelson, and Paige Aylward who finished sixth in the event.
At the RPAC meet, medals were given to the top eight placers in each event. Scoring for each event was 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1.
The boys team was led by Tanner Clough who placed in all four of his events, including three season best marks. Tanner finished third in the 1600 and fourth in the 3200. His other two medals were team efforts.
In the 4x400 (Landon Swedberg, Hayden Woodcox, Andrew Gardner, Tanner Clough) the boys finished seventh with a season best time. The boys 4x800 team (Gardner, Jose Arvizo, Woodcox, Clough) placed sixth.
