There were 206 from the region who attended the annual health fair at Perkins County Health Services held during the morning on both Friday and Saturday of last week, April 19-20.
Health services personnel offered blood testing, information booths, blood pressure checks, pulse monitoring, tetanus shots, height/weight and body fat percentage, bone density screening. Many brochures containing much educational material were available along the hallways in the specialty clinic area which led toward the conference room where breakfast was served.
Many items were available to take home, such as pens, lip balm, candy and mints, back scratchers, dental floss, to name a few. There were intermittent drawings for Chamber Greenbacks and a one-year membership to Image Total Fitness, which was won by Katy Miyamoto.
Employees and representatives from entities such as the regional health department and the Red Cross were on hand to visit with people about the importance of preventative testing, cancer causing agents, etc.
People were offered a breakfast of biscuits and gravy, fruit, yogurt, juice and coffee at the end of their trip through the 2013 Health Fair.
