Grant City Council approves nuisance program PDF Print E-mail

In an effort to continue the community clean-up program for Grant, the City Council has for the fourth year contracted with West Central Nebraska Development District (WCNDD) to provide nuisance officer services.
As with past efforts, residents who have properties that have been identified through the windshield assessment process, and appear to be in violation of the Nuisance Ordinance, could be declared a nuisance by the Grant City Council.
Courtesy letters are sent out Certified US Mail to property owners and tenants to help assure receipt of the notification.
City officials will not know who receives courtesy letters. In the event the property is not cleared following courtesy notification, the nuisance officer will bring those properties to the council for action.
Windshield assessments will begin soon with courtesy letters to follow.
Residents are asked to take a proactive approach to this project and clear their properties of discarded goods and to take measures to properly license their vehicles and trailers.
In an effort to assist with this clean up, the city provides a dumpster (for Grant residents only) for disposing of non-hazardous goods located at the grass clipping collection site west of the ball field.
White goods and metal can be disposed of at First and Hancock Streets, an area referred to as, “up on the hill.”
