Tasty earth layers

By Ashleigh Noyes

Recently, I was trying to think of some quick and easy treats to whip together for the kids to take outside and eat on a gorgeous spring day! Of course, it didn’t help that as I sat at my table and tried to dream of some fun and exciting treat for outdoors, there was a blizzard occurring in mid-April! So I sat stumped.
Then as I handed my nine-month-old a handful of vanilla wafers it hit me like a snowball to the face. Why not make the typical dirt cups except make them more of a science project! The earth has layers of rock, dirt and clay, so why can’t my snack cups? And my recipe was born!

Chocolate Clay Cups

8-10 clear plastic cups
3 cups milk
1 pkg. instant chocolate pudding
1 pkg. instant vanilla pudding
8-10 vanilla wafers
15-20 Oreo cookies, crushed
1 pkg. cream cheese
1 container whipped topping
1/2 cup peanut butter
Place a vanilla wafer in the bottom of each clear plastic cup. In a medium bowl combine chocolate pudding mix and 1-1/2 cups milk. Layer evenly in each of the cups.
Next mix 1-1/2 cups milk, vanilla pudding mix and peanut butter. Then add the cream cheese and blend well. Layer on top of the chocolate layer in the plastic cups. Place a thin layer of cookie crumbs on top.
Follow this step by layering of whipped topping in each cup and top with more of the crushed cookies. You can add your own special candy worms or treats if you would like or just eat them as they are!
