Perkins County hosts home meet PDF Print E-mail

The Perkins County Plainsmen track teams hosted their home meet at the E. Lee Todd Track in Grant on Saturday, April 6, under sunny skies and mild temperatures.     
The boys team placed third in a field of nine schools, three of which had JV teams who scored points.
Taking first place in two events was senior Elliot Carlson who won the 200 meter dash and long jump. Senior teammate Vinny Ross won the shot put event. Taking first in the 400 meter dash was junior Matthew Sestak.     
First in team scoring for the boys was Chase County with 212 points. Ogallala placed second with a score of 115. Perkins County had 83 points for third place.
Other teams participating were Gordon-Rushville 67, North Platte St. Pat’s 67, Wauneta-Palisade 28, Garden County 28, Sutherland 26, Hershey 19, Ogallala JV 2, Chase County JV 1, Perkins County JV 1.
On the girls side, Perkins County ranked seventh with 42 points. First place went to Ogallala with 131 team points. Other schools taking part in the girls division of the meet included Sutherland 77, North Platte St. Pat’s 74.5, Gordon-Rushville 64, Chase County 52.5, Hershey 50, Wauneta-Palisade 40, Garden County 22. Ogallala also had a girls JV team which scored two points.
