Coaches selected for 29th West Nebraska all-star game PDF Print E-mail

The volleyball coaches have been selected to lead the West and the East teams for the 29th annual West Nebraska All-Star Volleyball Game. This year’s game will be played Saturday, June 1 in Scottsbluff at Cougar Palace on the campus of Western Nebraska Community College. Game time is 2 p.m. MDT.
Selected as the head coach for the West is Kim Turnbull-Campbell from Gordon-Rushville High School. This is Coach Turnbull-Campbell’s second time coaching in the All Star Game. She previously served as the West head coach in 2004.
This past season Gordon-Rushville finished with a record of 11-21, losing to Chadron in the semi-finals of the C1-12 Sub-Districts.
Kim Davis from Chadron High School has been chosen as the assistant coach for the West squad for this year’s game.
Leading the East volleyball team this year is Shelly Byrn from North Platte St. Pat’s High School. This past season Bryn led St. Pat’s to a record of 31-2, making it to the C-1 State Volleyball Tournament where they lost to Hastings St. Cecilia in the consolation match.
This is Coach Byrn’s second appearance as coach in the West Nebraska All Star Volleyball Game. She served as the assistant coach for the East in 2008.
Valerie Kershner from Sutherland High School will serve as the assistant coach for the East squad.
A portion of the proceeds from the West Nebraska All-Star Volleyball game benefit many local charities including the Scotts Bluff County Volunteer Center.
