Plainsmen wrestlers excel at Sutherland Invite PDF Print E-mail



Perkins County wrestlers took part in the Sutherland invite on Saturday, Dec. 15 and with only three Plainsmen able to wrestle, scored 57 points and finished 11th out of 19 participating teams.
Other teams and their scores were Amherst 238, Maxwell 149, Southwest 106, Medicine Valley 99, Hershey 95, Rawlins County 86.5, Dundy County-Stratton 83, Sutherland 80, Sumner-Eddyville-Miller 60, SMC 57.5, Sandhills-Thedford 45, Anselmo-Merna 40.5, Garden County 36, Arcadia-Loup City 35, South Loup 34, Arapahoe 28, Banner County 20, Creek Valley 1.
Two Plainsmen captured the first place titles, Austin Thelander at 106 lbs. and Vinny Ross at heavyweight. Ross pinned each of his four opponents in the first period of each match.
