American Legion Auxiliary holds November meeting PDF Print E-mail

The American Legion Auxiliary met Nov. 13 at the Legion Hall with nine members present. President Loretta Armbruster opened the meeting. Opening prayer was given by Chaplain Clem Hansen and the Flag salute and preamble was recited by the group.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read by Secretary Jean Cochran and approved. The treasurer’s report was given by Treasurer Trudy Hundhausen. She reported that there had  had 62 members but there were two deaths, Dorothy Sexson and Geraldine Pankonin. Two members have transferred to another unit, so there are now 57 with 32 members dues paid to date. Money paid for deceased members is sent to the Auxiliary Emergency Fund and it was voted on to pay $10 instead of $5.  A new member joined the group, Lucille Bigs, who transferred  from Lexington. Trudy reported that the Venango Auxiliary has only five members that attend meetings now.
There was no new or old business. The next meeting will be Dec. 11 with the Legion. It will be a 6 p.m. soup supper. Those making soup are Clem Hansen, Loretta Armbruster, Sherry Kraus and Jean Cochran.
Following the meeting nine Thanksgiving boxes were packed and members delivered them to various families. Hostesses were Dolores Sides and Estaline Waterman.
