The 2012-13 Plainsmen wrestling team is ready to start their season this week.
The seven-member squad begins on the road (today) Thursday, Nov. 29 with a trip to Southwest for a dual tournament.
Seniors and 2012 state contenders Vinny Ross and Austin Thelander will provide leadership on the mats. Other seniors on the team include Blake Edmonds, Mark Hanson and Trey Johnson.
Ross placed fourth at the state meet last year in the 285 pound weight class. Thelander took sixth place in the 106 pound weight class at state last year.
Michael Tucker is the lone junior on the team due to classmate Garrett Toner being out for the season with a knee injury received during football season.
Sophomore Brennan Toner rounds out the Plainsmen wrestlers for 2012-13.
The only time the wrestlers will compete at home is during January when they host a junior varsity invitational.
