“He who dwells in the secret place of the most high shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord (our part – believe and confess) He is my refuge and my fortress, my God. On Him I lean and rely and in Him I trust! For then he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence! He will cover you with His pinions, and under His wings shall you trust and find refuge; His truth and His faithfulness are a shield and a buckler. You shall not be afraid of the terror of the night, nor of the arrow (the evil plots and slanders of the wicked) that flies by day nor of the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor of the destruction and sudden death that surprise and lay waste at noonday. ” Psalm 91:1-5 (Amplified Bible)
This has never been more true than during World War I when Colonel Whitt Lesay, a British Regiment Commander, took the 91st Psalm and made copies of it for all his men and commanded every man to read it every day for protection.
During four years in front line warfare, not one person was lost. This is not a nice story someone thought up but a historical fact in the British Military Archives.
Americans in general have turned their backs on God. We have truly been a blessed nation, with prosperity and freedoms. With the elections now over, regardless who won, government cannot solve man’s primary problem, which is spiritual deadness.
The Bible declares, “except the Lord build the house, we labor in vain that build it and except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh in vain. Psalm 127:1
One of the major downfalls took place in the early 60s when the Bible and prayer were banned in the public schools and being replaced with evolution, humanism, and atheisms. When we turn from true and lasting help in the Lord, God has no obligation to bless and protect us. Will you today – BELIEVE and RECEIVE Jesus?
If the 91st Psalm will do that for men during war time imagine what it can do for you and your family if you confess it every day. Confess this Psalm everyday and let it be life and health to you. God is YOUR deliverer, YOUR hope.
