A festival to squeal about PDF Print E-mail

The annual Wallace Fall Festival took place during beautiful weather over the weekend, with games, food, fun and laughter for all who attended. The two-day tribute to Wallace’s heritage began the prior Sunday with a golf tournament, then lured a crowd Sept. 15-16 for a parade, rides, dance and many other events. The weekend’s celebration of 125 years began early Saturday morning with a meal sponsored by the fire department, followed by a fun run/walk, parade, back-to-back entertainment or competition, more food and games, culminating toward evening with a demo derby, fireworks, more food and a street dance. Sunday afternoon featured a trap shoot, potluck and concert. A big hit on Saturday was an FFA-sponsored greased pig contest which gave onlookers reason to snort.
