No rain—no grain PDF Print E-mail

Nearly 75 percent of the dryland corn in Perkins County suffering from drought is being chopped to sell as fodder to feedlots, according to Frenchman Valley Co-op branch manager Gary Talich. There is very little grain due to low ear formation as a result of poor pollination. The rows of corn left standing in the swathed fields are for insurance adjustment purposes. (Photo by Jan Rahn)
